Jefferson Davis' Casemate

This is a picture of Warren standing in the room where Confederate President Jefferson Davis was imprisoned after the Civil War! At the time, he had been falsely accused of plotting to assassinate President Lincoln. He stayed here for two years in 1865-67 and was eventually released on $100,000 bail. Charges were eventually dropped and he never faced trial.
